Sometimes cat vomiting becomes a great concern for cat owners. Primarily a cat can vomit due to excessive eating or swallowing some indigestive substance. By vomiting, the cat tries to purge the unwanted stuff out of its system. Most of the times, vomiting in cats happens due to some non-serious conditions. But you should be well aware of its symptoms; as sometimes cat vomiting can be serious as well.
There may be many causes of cat vomiting. If you notice that your cat vomits often, after eating, you should check if the food is too rich for her. Some cats have the habit of gobbling up the food. Either of these reasons can cause cats to vomit. If rich food is the cause, then switch over to a lighter cat food that suits your cat's stomach and feed it with more frequent but smaller portions of food.
If your cat is not acclimatized to travel, then it can start vomiting soon after journey due to motion sickness. Take your cat for short car travels, so that it can get used to travel. Don't feed your cat just before your journey. When you are travelling by car, keep your cat in a towel covered basket so that it remains calm. If your cat falls sick during travel despite every effort, ask for anti-sickness tablets from your vet.
If your cat is happy and healthy otherwise but vomits due to some trivial reason, then you need not be worried. However, if your cat tends to vomit more frequently along with other symptoms, then it can be an indication of a more serious illness.
When should cat vomiting be taken seriously?
If your cat has fallen sick due to frequent vomiting over the last couple of days; beware of dehydration due to repeated vomiting.
