Different Types Of Games For Cats - Avoid Unsupervised Play

If you want to strengthen the bond between you and your cat, one of the best ways is to play different types of games for cats. When you play games with your cat, you have great fun together and the cat starts loving you even more - you become the most precious thing for her. When you come back home from work, she won't forget to welcome you in her own special way. What is more, these games have also proved to be a great mental as well as physical exercise for your cat. Following are some of the games that your cat will love to play with you.

The Chase Game

Although there are many different types of games for cats, chase game is one of the most popular. In this game, you will need a catnip mouse, a hollow plastic Whiffle ball, or an aluminum foil ball. Get a heavy string (at least three-feet in length) and tie the ball to it. Now, encourage your cat to chase that ball on the string. One of the best ways to do this is to go up and down your staircase. While you are playing this game, make sure that once in a while, you allow the cat to capture the ball. The sense of achieving success will encourage your cat to put more effort to capture the ball again and again.

The Shadow Game

Among the different types of games for cats, the shadow game is perhaps the most interesting one. In this game, you have to turn off the lights and use a large flashlight to cast a beam on an empty wall (make sure that paintings and other such things are not hanging on the wall). You will also need some bouncy cat toys to play this game. Dangle these toys in the light and move them in a way to create their shadows on wall as if they are playing with each other. The idea is to encourage your cat to catch the elusive prey on the wall.

The Bathtub Game

Bathtub can also be used as one of the cat game. To play this game, you will need a clean and dry bathtub. Make sure that the tub is empty. If there are bars of soap and bottles of shampoo, remove them. Now, get a ping-pong ball and put the same in the tub. Do not forget to plug the drain otherwise the ball may get lodged there. Allow the cat to enter the bathtub. Get the ball moving or bouncing and encourage the cat to chase after it. Make sure that ball doesn't stop bouncing. This will keep the interest of your cat alive.

While you are playing different types of games for cats, it is important for you to understand that some cat games need your supervision. For example, the chase game is not safe for unsupervised play.
