Two Are Better Than One

Considering adopting a kitten? Excellent! How about two? There are so many valid and exciting reasons as to why two kittens are better than one. Many people initially feel the hesitance of the idea of double trouble. However, that is of small consequence at the end of the day when you have two, not just one, bundles of joy curled into a warm and cozy lump of love at your feet.

First of all, there are millions of cats, young and old, brought to animal shelters every year, and sadly millions of those poor souls are brought to their death because there are simply not enough people out there giving them homes. Saving the life of an animal is invaluable; saving two is doubly rewarding.

Another awesome reason is because just like a lone human sibling, a single kitten would ultimately feel the eventual loneliness of not having a brother or sister around to grow up with. When the people of the household run off to work, or are just simply busy in the house being people, two kittens would be able to keep each other company, expel their innate playful energy, cuddle up next to each other when they need warmth or love from another sentient being, or simple communicate with one another. This is as important as being privileged to have a lifetime best friend. Could you imagine going through life sans the best bud you got to share the journey with?

If you are already a cat owner, adopting two kittens will also ease the transition for your existing cat. As one new young addition will no doubt want to play with and pester its new aunt or uncle, it may quite possibly come off as a nuisance due to the difference in energy levels. Wisely bringing two toddlers in at the same time eliminates the need for a repetitive introduction in the future should you choose to bring in another addition later on down the line. More so, it will quite harmoniously redirect the youthful energy and playful mischief inward towards each other, giving Uncle Scruffy a break.

Like brother, like sister. Ever watch a pair of young kittens or pups, or even children, when they eat? Kittens like all living babies are very curious creatures which will entice them to study the mannerisms and tricks of their peers. This is free education! If one of your kittens is a picky eater, it will usually end up giving in and trying what his friend is munching on. There is nothing like a good influence growing up with your babe every step of the way.

If that doesnt do it for you, adopting two kittens rather than one will help you, the owner. Just as Uncle Scruffy would find his silent windowsill a soothing relief from the whirlwind of energy your new kitten brings, you will also find sanction watching the heavy playing and rustling from behind the lines without having to get involved should you need the rest. Two kittens will tire themselves out, giving you the benefit of engaging in play at your leisure, whereas only would surely tire you out first. Aside from reaping the benefits of allowing the double trouble to do all the work, you will be overwhelmed with the double love and joy you get watching these two tykes grow. A kitten will bring you a journey of new life and zest and keep you on your toes. Two will plow the way, giving you the gift of such awesome energy twice as fast.
